Golden Gate Meat Company
at the Ferry Building in San Francisco
The Golden Gate Meat Company, family
owned and operated since 1977, now serves natural and organic
meats directly to the public! Everyone can enjoy our fresh
meats, wild game, and gourmet prepared meals. Look for us
at the Ferry Building Marketplace, Shop #13.
The Ferry plaza features a forty foot
display case showing our meat, wild game, veal, pork, poultry,
sausages, smoked meats and many other items. The Hot Deli
case offers daily breakfast, lunch and dinner specials
to go.
Jim, Patricia,
Chris and Margo Offenbach now offer the public the same
fine products that Golden Gate Meat Company has been offering
fine restaurants, culinary institutes, caterers and hotels
for the past 25 years. Our old-fashioned butcher shop and
charcuterie carries natural and organic beef, veal, pork,
lamb, poultry, wild game, offal and smoked meats. We also
have a visible Dry Age room that will age beef and local
lamb for up to 21 days.

GGMC VOTED BEST BUTCHER SHOP
SF Weekly,
May 11, 2005
The reborn Ferry Building isn't just a fine example of
architectural grace and the shining jewel of our lovely
new waterfront: It's a dream come true for the many and
varied food fanatics of San Francisco. Especially invaluable
is the Golden Gate Meat Co. over in slot 13. This family-owned butcher shop
sells an astonishing variety of natural and organic beef, pork, lamb, veal,
poultry, smoked meats, sausages, and game from top-quality sources, as well
as the company's own bacon, prosciutto, pancetta, dry rubs, and sauces. The
adjacent charcuterie sells rotisserie chickens, barbecued ribs, pizzas, hot
dogs, sandwiches, and wonderful pot pies, and during the holidays Golden
Gate will cook up your ham, turkey, prime rib, or leg of
lamb to your specifications. This is also the place to
come for buffalo, ostrich, turtle, pheasant -- even Kobe
beef.
